Tony Heald

Anthony “Tony” M. Heald has been practicing law in Delaware, Ohio for over 37 years. A lifelong resident of Delaware, Tony attended the Delaware City Schools, graduating from Delaware Hayes High School. Tony attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Ohio Wesleyan’s History Honor Society, and graduated Cum Laude in 1971. While at Ohio Wesleyan, Tony was a four year starter for Ohio Wesleyan’s football team, was named captain as a Senior and was named a Division III Academic First Team All-American. Upon his graduation from Ohio Wesleyan, Tony attended The Ohio State University College of Law, where he was elected the President of the Honor Council and graduated Cum Laude in 1974. While at The Ohio State University College of Law, Tony worked for the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Ohio as a legal intern and clerk.

Tony started his legal career in 1974 with Fred R. Wickham, a retired Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judge, and practiced with Mr. Wickham until Mr. Wickham’s death in 1985. Since that time, Tony has worked independently and with O. Ross Long who shares our building, as well as with Robert Gordin, Chad Heald, and Logan Philipps.

In his 37 years of practice, Tony has practiced in a multitude of legal areas. He is well known to have a wide range of expertise in many areas of law. He represents clients in all levels of felony cases including murder, kidnapping, rape as well as all levels of misdemeanor cases including OVI (DUI), assault, domestic violence, etc. Tony represents clients in all types of business disputes and personal injury cases. He is responsible for the single largest jury award in Delaware County history in a personal injury case. He represents individuals in multimillion dollar divorce trials and dissolutions. He has argued on numerous occasions before the Ohio Supreme Court. Tony serves as an expert witness in legal malpractice cases.

Tony has been recognized by Superlawyers Magazine and has been AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been selected by the readers of the Delaware Gazette as best attorney in Delaware.

He has served as President of the Delaware County Bar Association, President of the Delaware City School Board. He has been a member of the Delaware City Planning Commission and Family Promises
